Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast is a 1991 animated musical romantic fantasy film that is based on the 1756 Beauty and the Beast French fairy tale by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont. It features the voices of Paige O’Hara, Robby Benson, Richard White, Jerry Orbach, David Ogden Stiers, Angela Lansbury and Bradley Michael Pierce. Beauty and the Beast is about a smart, beautiful girl who is kidnapped by an ugly-looking beast and brought to his castle. While at the castle, Belle makes friends with a few of the staff including a candelabra, a teapot, and a mantel clock. What happens when Belle discovers that the ugly-looking beast is an enchanted prince?

Annie

Annie is a 1982 musical drama movie that is adapted from the 1977 Annie Broadway Musical. The move stars Aileen Quinn, Albert Finney, Carol Burnett, Tim Curry, Bernadette Peters, Ann Reinking, Geoffrey Holder and Edward Hermann. Annie is set during the Great Depression and tells the story of Annie, an orphan who resides at an orphanage that is fun by a crazy drunk woman. Annie is chosen to spend time with a politician who is trying to improve his image. Annie soon wins the heart of the politician’s staff as well as fellow politicians. When the politician offers reward money to find Annie’s biological parents, the owner of the orphanage and a few others try to get the reward money for themselves.

Enchanted

Enchanted is 2007 musical live-action animated fantasy romantic comedy film starring Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Timothy Spall, Idina Menzel, Rachel Covey and Susan Sarandon. Enchanted tells the story of Giselle, a princess who is banned from her magical land by the evil queen. Forced to be on the streets of Manhattan, Giselle meets and develops feeling for an attorney. However, she is engaged to be married to a prince back home. Now, Giselle must figure out if she can survive romance in the real world, discovering that it takes more than just a true love’s kiss.

  2. I think my daughter and her family (2 little ones, 18 months and 3 1/2 years) definitely like some of these, especially Disney ones (Frozen, of course!) Hubby is not so fond of them, so we don’t usually watch them.

  3. Grease is my favourite hands down! I love Wizard of Oz as well though & Mary Poppins! Another one of my favourites as a kid was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Bed Knobs & Broomsticks! :)

  5. Annie was my favorite musical when I was little and I had an incredible time being a pat of the cast when I was a teenager. I get emotional when I hear the music now.
