Cars 3 Movie Trailer Sneak Peek

Cars 3 will feature characters that we fell in love with in the previous two film including Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen, Larry the Cable Guy as Mater, Cheech Marin as Ramone and Bonnie Hunt as Sally. This time around, Lightning McQueen finds himself being pushed out of the sport of racing by some newer and faster racecar drivers. Trying to get back in the game, he seeks out the help of Cruz Ramirez, a female racecar trainer and technician. (The voice actor for Cruz Ramirez has not been announced yet).

Walt Disney Pictures is well-known for their jovial characters like Remy from Ratatouille, Russell from Up and Olaf from Frozen. Pixar Animation Studios is best known for their light-hearted characters such as Sheriff Woody from Toy Story, Sully from Monsters University and Arlo from The Good Dinosaur. However, from the teaser trailer, it looks like Cars 3 may be a cross between the darker 1987 movie The Brave Toaster and the eerie 2009 movie Coraline.

Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios released the first teaser trailer for the movie Cars 3 on November 21, 2016, which is a mere 49 seconds long. The teaser trailer focuses on a Piston Cup race, featuring gritty shots, black screens and heartbeat sounds. During the trailer, we see Lightning McQueen hitting the wall and spinning out of control in the air. Of course, we know that nothing will happen to Lightning McQueen because he is the star of the movie.

While this trailer is just seconds long, there is only one spoken line and one line of text. The spoken line comes from an announcer over the loudspeaker, during the Piston Cup race, saying “McQueen is fading. He’s fading fast.” The line of text reads, “From this moment, everything will change.”

John Lasseter, Pixar executive and director, told Entertainment Weekly about the movie, “Lightning McQueen, he’s awesome. We’ve got some great new characters, some great racing in it. It’s a very emotional story. It’s a little bit more akin to Cars 1, where you get into a deep emotion with him.”

What are your thoughts on the Cars 3 movie trailer? Are you looking forward to seeing this film with your family?
