Dog’s voice, from the movie trailer:
Dog– “This was me, and then this was me, then I came back as this little guy. A lot of lives for one dog to live, but I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s start at the beginning. For me it all began with a boy, his name was Ethan.”
During this time, 4 different breeds of dogs are displayed, representing the 4 lives of the dog.
Bailey, talking about Ethan and how they loved playing ball together:
Bailey- “Whenever life got Ethan down I knew exactly what to do.”
Bailey- “I’m ready.”
Ethan- “Go Bailey!” As Ethan throws the ball for Bailey to fetch.
Bailey loved bringing a ball to Ethan so they could play fetch.
Quotes from the Book:
Chapter 11, Page 119:
Bailey, after Ethan tells him to go away when they got lost in the woods:
Bailey- “I felt anger and fear and pain coming from him, but I didn’t back away. I stayed right there, and I knew I had done the right thing when he buried his face in my neck.”
This is a pretty powerful quote from the book that shows dogs do sense their owners feeling and emotions.
Chapter 32, Page 314:
Buddy, as he is now called by Ethan:
Buddy- “I was a good dog. I had fulfilled my purpose…I understood it now, why I had lived so many times. I had to learn a lot of important skills and lessons, so when the time came I could rescue Ethan, not from the pond but from the sinking despair of his own life.”
Another powerful quote from the book that shows Buddy’s love for Ethan, which brought him back to the young boy!
