There is really a no better way to end Thanksgiving than spending time together as a family watching a movie. After a nice Thanksgiving meal and a delicious pumpkin pie, a good family movie is a great way to continue that bond created during dinner time. Here are some of the best Thanksgiving family movies to watch together!

4- Good Thanksgiving Family Movies
Rudy-
Rudy was released in 1993, is a sports film and stars Sean Astin, Ned Beatty, Jason Miller and Charles S. Dutton. The movie is based on the real life of Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger. Rudy’s dream was to play football at Notre Dame. However, his grades, his small size, and his athletic skills were not up to par to make the team. That didn’t let him stop trying because he had the drive, determination and the support of a few people who believed in him. This is a very good Thanksgiving family movie to watch.
Pieces of April-
Pieces of April was released in 2003, is a comedy film and stars Katie Holmes, Derek Luke, Sean Hayes, Alison Pill, Oliver Platt and Patricia Clarkson. April and her boyfriend live in a poor part of New York. While her family is driving from Pennsylvania to New York to spend Thanksgiving with April and Bobby, conversations take place between April’s mother, father, sister, brother and grandmother that brings to light the relationship within this dysfunctional family.

Pocahontas-
Pocahontas was released in 1995, is an animated film and features the voice cast of Irene Bedard, Mel Gibson, David Ogden Stiers, Russell Means, Christian Bale, Billy Connolly and Linda Hunt. Captain John Smith, Governor Ratcliffe and their team of sailors and soldiers head to the New World in search of riches. Unexpected things happen, however, when John meets Pocahontas, who has been pledged to be married to the village warrior by her father. When Ratcliffe and Chief Powhatan (the father of Pocahontas) are at odds, John and Pocahontas try to prevent an all-out war while falling in love. This is one of the best Thanksgiving family movies.
Big Hero 6-
Big Hero 6 was released in 2014, is a 3D computer animated film and features the voice cast of Scott, Adsit, Ryan Potter, Daniel Henney, T.J. Miller, Jamie Chung, Damon Wayans Jr., Genesis Rodriguez, James Cromwell, Alan Tudyk and Maya Rudolph. This is the story of the special bond between a large inflatable robot known as Baymax and Hiro Hamada, a prodigy. Hiro calls upon Baymax and his other friends when danger lurks around him after a tragic event happens on their city. Hiro calls his team of friends Big Hero 6.

We definitely watch movies on Thanksgiving Day, and these are great ideas. I have to watch Home Alone but I’m going to try Big Hero 6 too.
Pocahontas and Big Hero Six are on our Daily watch list, but I’d love to check out those other movies.
We have movie night every Friday in our house. Your list is straight and too the point and offers something for every one in our house. I have never heard of “pieces of April” thanks to you I plan to check it out. Being together as a family doing anything is a blessing.
