These days it seems like schools are expecting more out of our kids and at younger ages than ever before. The days of learning basic spelling and writing skills in Kindergarten are long gone. Now, kids need to know these things before they ever step foot in a school for the first time. I like to make sure my kids are prepared but I don’t want to put too much stress on them at such a young age.
I’ve found that learning through play is the best way to give my kids the head start they need without making it feel like work. We enjoy a lot of hands on activities. I scatter books around the house in baskets and on kid-height tables, we read at bedtime, and I try to turn simple outings like a trip to the grocery store into learning experiences (can you find a Y?). While these are all great ways to teach my kids, sometimes I like a little more structure to the learning. That’s where Reading Eggs Junior really helps!
Reading Eggs Junior Review: Teaching Your Kids Through Creative Play
While there are a lot of ways to teach your toddlers and preschoolers to read, we all know how much kids love technology! I like to allow it in moderation and do insist that most of the time, they’re only using educational apps or programs. I think it’s important to make their time on digital devices really count.
Reading Eggs Junior is an online learning program for toddlers 2-4, designed by experienced educators. It teaches children by first engaging them with bright and colorful illustrations and music then working in simple concepts like letter identification and sounds. Learning can be fun and putting your child on the path to learning early can set them up for academic success from the start! With the addition of the Reading Eggs Junior to the Reading Eggs family, kids from as young as 2 all the way to 13 can improve their reading skills by playing games and listening to stories.
What can toddlers learn when they use Reading Eggs Junior? Here is a quick list …
- Alphabet knowledge
- Print awareness
- Language skills
- Vocabulary
- Focus
- Phonemic awareness
They get all that educational benefit through fun books, games, songs, and videos so they don’t even realize that they are learning. I like that we can use it on the computer and she can become familiar with using the keyboard and the mouse or it can be used on-the-go on a tablet as well.
We gave Reading Eggs Junior a try and my little one didn’t want to stop! You have to love a teaching tool that kids beg for more of, right? She was totally drawn into the colorful online environment and loved playing with the Eggs and tapping to open them up and see what was inside.
Whether you are a homeschool mom, a teacher, or are just looking for something to supplement your child’s learning Reading Eggs Junior is a great way to give your child’s learning an early boost.
Ready to give Reading Eggs Junior a try? Now is the perfect time because they are offering a free 4-week trial (no credit card required)!
