  1. Yes, some of these facts do surprise me. It’s really sad. If I’m in the park with my boys and i see someone being bullied, I step up and say something. That’s what everyone should do. Don’t ignore it. That doesn’t help at all.

  2. It is noticeably clear that since bullying poses a huge threat to our kids, parents and school officials must join hands to minimize, if not totally prevent, such acts. Education and discipline doesn’t have to be confined within the four corners of the school and home respectively. It is intriguing to know that 40% of those employed in Canada are being bullied on a weekly basis!

  3. it is so sad that so many children are bullied in the way they are! Bullies will always be a part of life and think more education is need in how best to treat and handle the bullied in a practical sort of way!

This is an amazing post and we all need to be aware of the bullying that children go through so we can do something about it. I was shocked that 64% of the children think that bullying is normal. Thanks for shairng.

  5. Those are scary facts. And they will continue to go grow without awareness. I wish the ones who bully would actually open up their eyes and see what they are doing and know that it is totally unacceptable. It’s a topic that needs to be addressed promptly and everyday in schools and just in general lives.

  6. Being a mom, I’m so worried about my daughter to get bullied at school. My husband and I reminds my daughter about this bully problem how she has to handle it and react when kids bullied her and most of all talk to us (parents) about problem arising in school.

  7. These statistics are staggering. People think bullying is few and far between but in reality it really isn’t. Something we have to work on as a society!

  8. Bullying needs to stop period! I am from the US and was bullied when I was younger and know others that have been bullied as well. This is a very important topic and we need to talk about it more! THANK YOU for sharing this post!! I made a video on bullying which you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTLEskdIQ9k It’s titled “Say No to Bullying” and 54seconds long

  9. I live in the US and I’m sure it’s just as high if not higher. Kids are plain mean sometimes. I remember growing up in the midwest, and I was the only asian kid there, and naturally I was bullied bc I was different. But I do think while no one should have to deal with it, it made me a stronger person today. :) It happens to adults too in a much different way.. and it’s the world we live in.

  10. This is such an important subject. My daughter was bullied a bit in 1st grade and now a bit in 4th grade. Luckily, her teachers have been very supportive.

Wow, those figures are so disturbing aren’t they? 1 in 7 children being bullied and 1 in 5 witnessing cyber bullying is so saddening. I would hate for my son to ever get bullied :(

  12. I am from the US and although I have no children I abhor bullying. I don’t remember much of it occurring when I went to school. I am beginning to think that all the bullying in schools brings about the bullying the statistics show in the Canadian workplace. Something certainly has to be done to stop this worldwide!
