Getting my son to sleep was real simple and easy when he was a newborn. A little snuggles (ok, a lot of snuggles), a full belly and he was out. Growth spurts and teething have changed my little baby! I found a few tricks that work great. When I bathe him at night, I have found that when I use JOHNSON’S® 3-Step Bedtime Routine, he falls asleep easier and sleeps more soundly. And, he smells amazing.
My 1-2-3 Routine for Getting My Baby to Sleep
I draw my baby a warm bath and add JOHNSON’S® baby BEDTIME bubble bath to the running water and move it around with my hands. He loves the little bubbles. The bubbles aren’t overwhelming, just fun and sweet smelling. He likes to play a bit before I wash him with JOHNSON’S® baby BEDTIME bath. I like to massage him a little while washing him. I’ve learned to rinse him off quickly because he doesn’t like water in his face, but thankfully JOHNSON’S® still stands by their no more tears formula, so I know he is safe from harsh burning eyes.
I like to snuggle him for a bit before drying him off and dressing him. He is my last one, my baby boy! I try to get in as many baby snuggles as I can while he lets me. Next comes JOHNSON’S® baby BEDTIME lotion. I love how this feels on my own skin and leaves my baby feeling so soft and smelling so sweet. By now he is typically getting tired, rubbing his eyes. The combination of the warm bath and JOHNSON’S® 3-step bedtime routine is like magic! Pj’s, soft music streaming in the nursery and some snuggles and he is down for the count.
He is a little young to have a special stuffed animal or blanket (at least in my opinion) but he loves blankets in general. I wrap one of his around him and he pulls it close and buries his face in it. It is one of those things as mom you think is so adorable and hopes he does forever. One of those things you will tell him when he is older.
Along with the soft music that I have streaming in the room, while I hold him and rock him I hum. I don’t know why he loves it so much, but he quiets right down. Maybe it reminds him of how my voice sounded in the womb? Whatever it is, it seems to work! Did you know you can use the JOHNSON’S® Baby Sleep App to unlock hidden lullabies featuring global, crowd-sourced sounds of bedtime? It’s so neat!
Bathtime always seems to help get the kiddos sleepy, but using JOHNSON’S® 3-Step Bedtime Routine seems to make it all even more soothing. Check out all the great products in the JOHNSON’S® Baby Care Product Line! Follow them on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to keep up with news.

I agree, a good bath before bed time really worked when my kids were little.
I never saw the bubble bath product before! I don’t think its available in my country yet but would love to get it. I love Johnsons. I grew up using the brand and now my kids are.

Great post. Having a routine is definitely important I have found.
Omg I swear I drowned my princes in Johnsons lavender lotion when she was itty bitty!!! Worked like a charm every time we were having sleeping issues
Ooh I remember those days.
A nice bath and cuddles with reading will dose them off quickly and nicely.
I used it when my son was little! Can you believe I still use it myself? Love the scent!
I love the Johnson’s products. I use to use them all the time when my girls were little. They’re great at helping your children relax and get ready for bed.

I used J&J products when my son was a baby. And I gave him a bath before bedtime too. Now I’m nostalgic. Love reminiscing those days. :)

I used Johnson’s products for my kids when they were little. It was always great for their skin. I will have to try the bedtime bubble bath the next time i babysit my friends little ones.
I know my sister developed routines with my nephew from day 1! Once they get into a good routine, bedtime shouldn’t be too hard.
Our bedtime routine for our boys is dinner, play time, getting dressed into pajamas, brushing teeth, followed by reading some books. Routine is so key for all of us!
We used this when my boys were little and I loved the scent. I still smell lavendar and think about bedtime! It’s such a great part of a bedtime routine!
When I was a nanny, this stuff was a godsend! I don’t have any kids of my own, but if I ever do I’ll definitely be using this because it was so amazing.
I love Johnson and Johnson products. I remember using the lavender lotion before bedtime and after baths for my kids.
I learned EXACTLY how important a good bedtime routine is when I had my first baby. If your baby gets off routine, it’s all over for the next week!
My boys were good sleepers from day one. A good routine was definitely a huge part of it.
