Think again!

Traveling with a baby is a breeze when you bring along the right gear!

Must-Have Gear for Traveling with a Baby

The right gear for traveling with a baby comes down to the three S’: security, sleep, and strolling.

You’ll need a way to keep your baby secure in the car or on the plane, a place for her to sleep, and a way to carry her while seeing the sights! Let’s talk a bit more about each!

Security

Security is, of course, your number one concern when traveling with a baby! Whether you arrive at your destination by plane, train, or automobile, you’ll need a car seat to keep your tiny tot secure during your travels!

This is where the Bravo Travel System comes in super handy. The parent-friendly stroller comes with an infant-friendly KeyFit® 30 car seat to create a diverse travel system for your baby.

Designed for children from birth to 50lbs, the Bravo stroller lets your baby sit up, lounge back, or lay down as you travel. It features a five-point harness for added security and a large canopy to help protect them from the sun.

You can even detach the stroller seat and backrest to make a lightweight carrier for just the car seat! When it’s time to put it away, the stroller closes easily with one hand.

The included KeyFit® 30 car seat is one of the easiest infant seats to install. It features a ReclineSure® leveling foot and two RideRight® bubble level-indicators so you always know whether you’re installing it correctly.

The Bravo Travel System comes in several styles and colors designed to fit just about every budget.

Sleep

If your baby isn’t sleeping, chances are no one in your family will be getting much sleep, either! Very little ruins a vacation faster than everyone being too exhausted to see the sights! Believe me, I’ve been there and done that!

I’ve stayed in hotels with my son when he was an infant and young toddler. I made the mistake of renting a hotel crib rather than bringing my own. Even expensive hotels with posh beds seem to skimp a bit on the port-a-cribs.

I recommend the FastAsleep Full-Size Travel Playard from Chicco. This versatile playard features a napper area for infants up to 15 pounds as well as a sleeping area for tots up to 30 pounds. It even has an extra-large changing area!

The padded mattress secures to the floor of the playard, and you can set the whole thing up in just seconds. When you’re done using it, the entire thing folds down flat so it’s easy to take anywhere.

If you frequently visit family out of state, I suggest buying one and having it shipped directly to their house. My brother did this when my niece was born and it’s saved him a lot of trouble over the years.

Strolling

For the most part, you can use your Bravo Travel System to stroll your baby around while seeing the sights. Sometimes, though, you may visit attractions that don’t really accommodate a large stroller. Other times, your baby may want to be held!

For times like those, you’ll want the UltraSoft Infant Carrier! The 2-in-1 carrier lets your tiniest tots face in towards you or your older baby face outward to the world.

The soft mini-vented lining and adjustable straps work along with the mesh side panels to keep both you and your baby comfy. It even has a unique “cuddle pocket” to let you get even closer to your infant.

It accommodates babies from 7.5 pounds up to 25 pounds, so you can use it throughout your child’s entire infancy.

Traveling with a baby doesn’t have to be difficult. With these three baby travel gear essentials, your tiny tot can stay secure, sleep easy, and see the sights in comfort!

I currently have a Chicco Fit2 car seat and my little girl will be 2 next month and is ready to move to the next car seat. I’m glad I was introduced to Chicco products, I’m loving the features.

  2. Chelsea Rae Phillips

I have four little ones. Always looking for the best carseat. My youngest is just getting out of her carrier. Would love to upgrade to the best!

  3. This is amazing, this would be the coolest package to win! A mom of two and trying for the third…even though the baby is still a baby….we love our kiddos <3

  4. ChaoticSilence13

I would buy a new car seat for my littlest one. Not sure of exactly which one yet, but a new one nonetheless.

  5. I’d put it toward the Lullaby® Dream playard! That would make such a fantastic baby shower gift for my niece!

  6. I honestly didn’t think about bringing a crib to a vacation but now I think it is a great idea! It is sometimes difficult to travel with kids.

  7. These are all so great for a family on the go! I love it when couples just include the baby in their lifestyle instead of altering it. So fun!

  8. Mary Fitzgerald Edwards

An infant carrier is a must! I love taking pics when traveling, so keeping my hands free is important and the carrier helps big time. Great post with great info! Thanks!

  9. It seems like you always have to pack the entire house when traveling with kids, especially babies. Thanks for the contest! I’m entering now.

  10. There are definitely a few things you can’t leave the house without when traveling with a baby. It can feel like the world is ending if you do, ha!

  11. I preferred traveling with our son when he was a baby. I could wear him and nurse him to keep him happy. I always flew with direct flights, let everyone else deplane, then got help from the flight attendants. It was a beautiful thing.

  12. Ann F. Snook-Moreau

Your point about if baby doesn’t sleep, nobody sleeps, is so true. I don’t have kids but apparently I kept my parents up for an entire beach weekend when I was a baby . . . whoops!

  13. Jennifer Williams

I would use this towards the Bravo Trio Travel System – Orion for my youngest sister. She just found out she’s pregnant with her first :)

  14. YES! This is a great list. My hubs and I decided early on that our lives would not be put on hold just because we had 1 or 2 little ones. Travelling with littles does mean a little more pre-planning but done right you can actually enjoy vacay with them! My only added 2 cents if you are bringing a portable crib to get them used to it 1-2 days prior to leaving on your trip. The transition to hotel was a lot faster :)

  15. I don’t have a baby so have not really thought about this topic a lot. However, your list is very thorough and I’m sure new parents will greatly appreciate it.

  16. Sometimes it feels like you’re moving when you pack up all the baby stuff for vacation. I love this travel system and it’s so streamlined and cute.

  17. I love Chicco products. Great competition. The travel system looks fantastic and the playard is a great thing for travelling x
