I’m sharing #lobsterworthy moments in my life as part of a Red Lobster sponsored series for Socialstars™
Before this week, I have never been to Red Lobster (gasp!). I had always wanted to go, but we don’t eat out very often, and there was never one close enough (living in the boondocks of New Hampshire that is). Since moving to Florida, I discovered one just a few miles from my house. When posed with the question ‘Where do you want to go to celebrate your birthday?’ Of course, my answer was ‘Red Lobster!’ I was dying for some great seafood! What’s a more lobster-worthy occasion than my birthday, right?
My Lobster-worthy Birthday at Red Lobster
I headed to my local Red Lobster with my mom and my son. The atmosphere was very comforting when we walked in; it reminded me of being back home on the coast of New England (it’s where I grew up). And there were live lobsters just sitting in a big tank when you walked in! Talk about fresh food! The waitstaff was very nice. We went early, my mom and I, for lunch. It started to fill up quickly. We were not the first people there but there were only a few when we were sat down, and they started coming in quickly! I took this as a great sign as to how good the food at Red Lobster must be.
Then I looked at the menu. I could not decide! Do I want: lobster, shrimp, scallops or something else? How do I want it? Fried, grilled, tossed in a salad or over pasta? It seemed like the possibilities were endless!
I had to make a decision, as much as I would have liked to, I couldn’t sit there all day (my mom had to get to work). I decided on a crunchy fish sandwich. My mom had ordered a tried true favorite, fish and chips.
When my plate arrived, I was shocked, there was no way I was going to be able to eat that like a sandwich! It was huge! But not in a ‘woah, too much food’ kind of way, it was just a good size piece of fish on a delicious bun with lettuce, and tomato.
My mom gave little bits of her fish to my son. My daughter is a very picky eater, so I am trying to expose my son to more foods early on and it seems to be working! Although, he did prefer the lemon at this meal.
I hadn’t realized until I was finished with my meal, how full I was! It was just so good I kept eating. The waitstaff was attentive as well, filling out waters as needed, but also leaving us to enjoy our meal. All in all, I had a great experience at Red Lobster and I am looking forward to my next visit, hopefully soon! If you haven’t ever eaten at Red Lobster you are definitely missing out!
