WordGirl started in 2007 and is still currently running on PBS. In 2009, it won the Teacher’s Choice Award for Families from Learning Magazine. WordGirl is about a female superhero and her sidekick money who work as a team to fight crime. The crime is not your ordinary crime though since it is not knowing what word to use in certain instances. Each episode features 4 vocabulary words, which are used in different ways so viewers can understand how the word is being used.

Cyberchase
Cyberchase started in 2002 and is still currently airing today on PBS. This show, while animated, teaches kids about math concepts and promotes reading. The show centers on a villain that attempts to take over the world as the cyber kids attempt to save the day. The kids save the day by using math along with other skills. PBS Kids will be airing an hour-long Cyberchase movie this April, so keep an eye out for that!
Super Why
Super Why was shown on PBS and Sprout from 2007-2012. Super Why is a show that combines fun, singing, dancing and fairy tales with problem solving. It not only teaches kids how to recognize the letters of the alphabet but also teaches them about manners, having a positive attitude and listening to their parents. In each episode, Wyatt and his friends need to solve a problem through stories and puzzles.

Sid the Science Kid
Sid the Science Kid was shown on PBS from 2008-2014. Sid and his friends go to school each day and discover fascinating things in the world around them, which prompt them to ask questions. He and his friends, along with their teacher, go out and investigate the answers to their questions while learning about science along the way. The episodes of each week are focused on a scientific theme such as backyard science, weather and health.
