Wishes are one of the most powerful forces. They give us hope, keep us going in dark times. They inspire us to create and imagine. A wish is at the heart of just about every great invention and deed.
Think about it: you’re reading this from your comfy chair right now because someone wished they could put an entire world of information on one little device. You’re sitting on that chair because someone wished they had something cushier than a rock to relax on! Those four walls that surround you wouldn’t be there if someone hadn’t wished for something more elaborate than a cave!
It all starts with a wish. No one knows this better than UPS. Every day, they deliver wishes. You wish for those gorgeous new shoes, they deliver. I wish for a giant box of coffee, make a few clicks, and UPS delivers. This holiday season, UPS is putting their expertise in delivering wishes to extremely good use.
Share a Wish with UPS to help families & communities in need
From now through December 31st, your generous wish for someone else can also help children and families in need. During the #WishesDelivered campaign, UPS will donate $1 to one of their charity partners, up to $100,000. This includes Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club, or Toys for Tots.
Submitting your wish is easy. Just post it to Twitter or Instagram with the campaign hashtag #WishesDelivered and it will automatically be submitted. For example: “I wish my cousin could be home for the holidays. He’s stationed overseas. #WishesDelivered” You can also go to the UPS wish site and submit it there.
Here’s the stipulation, though: you have to make a selfless wish for someone else. No wishing for the newest smartphone or a sports car for yourself. If your best friend needs a reliable car to take her kids to school, that’s fine. The goal is to think of others, to share the spirit of giving.
Wishes can be as grand or as small as you want. Perhaps your community desperately needs a new playground. Maybe your mom just really needs a comfortable chair to help save her bad back while she works 12 hours a day from home.
Remember, your wish doesn’t just inspire others to think selflessly, it also helps out the UPS charity partners. Those partners, in turn, help grant holiday wishes for children and families in need. Many families depend entirely on such charities for their children’s holiday gifts. So, let’s show off our generous spirits and share our wishes!
What’s your wish? We’d love to see it! Tell us about it in the comment, along with a link to your wish. We’ll try to share as many as possible!
