Life is full of ups and downs. It’s not always rainbows and sunshine, but thankfully it’s also not always clouds and stormy skies. Many times, we tend to get overwhelmed by the more difficult times and forget about all the simple joys in life. An ice-cream cone on a hot summer day, spotting a hummingbird sipping sweet nectar with its little wings aflutter, or seeing our child’s face light up when they learn how to master a new skill. These are the moments that make life so beautiful. These are the moments we need to focus on. Not only will this positive attitude make the good days even better, but they can help you through the bad days as well!
Overcoming fear to create something positive
I’m going to be completely honest- owning your own business is terrifying. Every day, you’re faced with the tasks of getting out there to promote yourself, worrying about whether a good streak is going to continue, and struggling to get through a bad streak. It would be so easy to let fear win and make you throw in the towel. Persevering takes time, patience and a whole lot of work. In the end, though, it’s worth it. Even on the bad days, there are so many great things about working for yourself. If I had let fear take over, I wouldn’t be on my way to becoming a successful entrepreneur!
The key to overcoming fear to create something positive is to keep your eye on your goals and celebrate every accomplishment- big or small. Reach your sales goal for the month? Celebrate! Write a stellar article that you’re super proud of? Celebrate that too! I’m not saying go out and throw a party for every milestone, just take a moment to sit back and appreciate it!
Allstate Good Life wants you to celebrate those smaller joys in life too. Not only that, but they’re also making a promise to their customers to celebrate those small triumphs. Like rewarding you if you don’t crash your car, and forgiving you if you do! Celebrating the good can definitely help take the sting out of the bad!
Now it’s your turn! Tell us about a time you turn adversity into triumph, or about a small joy in your life that brightens your day!
