A few weeks ago I attended a blogging conference at Dallas: Blissdom !! I was looking forward to visiting Dallas because I have never been to the city before! I was also hoping I could get a glimpse of my mom’s favorite characters from Dynasty or Dallas! (I know that most of them are no longer in this world but I was still hoping: kids dreams).
I was also looking forward to the trip because I was traveling on board my favorite air line company : Air Canada! I had a pleasant experience last fall when I was traveling from Montreal to Toronto! The crew was so nice and the service top notch!
Montreal – Dallas on board Air Canada: comfortable and excellent service
There is no direct flight from Montreal to Dallas. I had to connect through Toronto. When I booked my tickets, I chose booked connecting flights that are not too close to each other. With the harsh winter we had, and so many cancellations in the last months, I had to be cautious!
Thirty hours before the departure, Air Canada sends an email to check in! I like this feature because it means time saving at the check in point! The day before the departure, we had a huge snow storm (around 20 cm of snow). Many flights were cancelled. I barely slept that night. The Air Canada flights were on schedule but to my surprise I was delayed at Toronto Pearson airport customs! There was a huge line up! It was the beginning of spring break so many people were traveling. Fortunately I didn’t have any bags to check out from Montreal. I had only my carry on which sped up the process!
The first flight has a one hour duration. We were offered snacks and drinks. I had pretzels and water.
From Toronto to Dallas (around 3 hours duration), I ordered a chicken sandwich with a chocolate bar (that I saved for the kids! always thinking of them)! The Air Canada on board cafe offers multiple choices: beef sandwich (that I took on my way back home), tortillas, etc. The meal costs between $7 and $9 and you can have different combination: sandwich and snack, sandwich and drink, etc. You can pay when you book your flight (which I did) or during the flight. They only accept credit cards.
For entertainment, Air Canada offers a large selection of movies and TV shows on board! I watched Sky Fall from Toronto to Dallas and Hunger Games from Dallas to Toronto. I was comfortably seated and well served by the crew. The airline provides headsets for $3 but you can use your phones! I didn’t know that at first but the crew suggested that we use our phone headsets to avoid spending (Which a nice thought! ).
On my way back to home, I didn’t have the chance to check in online because I didn’t have access to a printer to print my boarding pass! I checked in my luggage and it was super fast!
Conclusion and final thoughts!
Since it was a long trip, I was really stressed at first! But Air Canada’s professional team, service and flights made it easier for me! I had a really nice trip, great service and was comfortable all the way!
