Creating positive change in your community is important and the Aviva Community Fund can help make that happen where you live, with the issues that are important to you. There are many Canadians with ideas on how to improve their local area and with the Aviva Community Fund competition, you have a chance to get your idea heard. You can submit your ideas for improving your local community and the more votes it gets, the better chance you have of winning money for your cause.
What Are the Goals & Mission of Aviva Community Fund?
The goals and mission of Aviva Community Fund is to get people thinking about ways to change their local area for the better. Would you like to positively influence domestic violence victims, the homeless, or do you care about the environment? If you see a need in your community, then you can submit an idea and make a difference.
Creating positive change is important to me because my heart breaks everytime I think about homeless youth. While it is something we don’t like to think about, there are many youths who are either already homeless or at risk. My favorite Aviva Community Fund charity contest submission is “Because Every Youth Needs a Home.”
“Because Every Youth Needs a Home” focuses on meeting the needs of young men and women ages 16-24 in the tri-counties of Digby, Yarmouth, and Shelburne.
Their mandate is to prevent youth homelessness and provide intervention services to meet the needs of youth both female and male, between 16-24 years of age, who are homeless or at risk of being homeless in the tri counties of Digby, Yarmouth and Shelburne. They will provide both transitional and emergency housing, house retention support, counseling as well as a place to go for food, laundry, to take a shower, and clothing.
Preventing and helping the homeless, especially young people, is something that is important to me.
