BlogHer is an annual blogging conference where more than 5,000 bloggers meet, connect and enjoy being together. This event is sponsored by some amazing companies and brands. Most bloggers have high expectations when attending this conference! I know I did! My main goal was to connect with other bloggers in life and learn about new brands!
As some of you may notice, I am very active on social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. I talk with many bloggers online and share some great ideas with them. I was eager to meet them in life! My goal was achieved. I had a blast connecting with lots of them. I had a great time chatting with them and relaxing.
BlogHer conference offers learning sessions and expo halls. The learning sessions cover many interesting topics such as photography, writing, brand connections and more! I didn’t attend any sessions! Why? I arrived late at the session and it was packed! All the sessions were recorded on video and I could watch them at home!
The expo halls: Where the sponsors connect with bloggers! Since there are 5000 bloggers attending the conference and around (maybe 200 sponsors), you can imagine that the expo hall can be crowded! It was! But I managed to connect with some brands I think my readers would love! I will be sharing that with you soon!
Here are some tips for the expo hall:
Go early. (as soon as it opens)
Visit the brands you want to work with and you feel is a good fit for your site.
Take the business cards and write down the company name/notes.
Follow up with the brands you want to work with.
The private parties
BlogHer organizes parties that every blogger can attend. Some brands organize private parties to connect with some bloggers. These private parties were held outside the hotel. The space was limited. They were more intimate! A few months before the event, you will notice a lot of buzz on the twitter stream. People sending invites and looking for invites. I was invited to some exciting parties. I am sharing with my favorite ones. I really enjoyed those parties: it was like a ladies night out. It was all about us (bloggers) relaxing and getting pampered!
Hasbro Party: sponsored by Hasbro
We tested some new games, had great food and drinks and danced!
Glam Tend: sponsored by GlamMedia
We had a mani/pedi, great appetizers and lots of fun
Mom Central Canada
I connected with my fellow Canadian bloggers. The party was organized on an over top roof location. The view was stunning.
Should you attend BlogHer?
I was asked this question many times. Is it worth it? BlogHer costs lots of money: ticket, plane ticket, hotel expenses! I have to admit that I was overwhelmed by this conference: more than 5000 people meeting! It can be overwhelming but since my goal was to meet and connect, I managed to do that. Each lunch I sat in a different table, spoke with a different person and made great connections. Depending on your goal, you will think about attending or not. Mine was achieved!
Am I attending BlogHer13?
BlogHer13 is in Chicago. I have never been there! So I will definitely go there! and to other conferences!

Did you attend BlogHer or any other conference? What did you like about it?
Disclosure: I didn’t get any monetary compensation to share this. I just wanted to share my experience and thank all those amazing sponsors.
