I use my slow cooker or crock pot recipes at least once a week during the school year to make meal time pleasurable and stress-free for my family and myself.

These are some of the most used recipes in my family. With teenagers I go to these slow cooker recipes when my family has a busy night of everyone going their own way. The favorite of these in my house is Italian Pork Sandwiches but Queso Dip is a close second.
Italian Pork Sandwiches Slow Cooker Recipe
  • Large Pork Roast
  • Bottle Italian Dressing
  • Hoagie Buns

In the morning, place your thawed roast and the entire bottle of dressing. Turn on your slow cooker on low and then lit is cook for 6-8 hours. As your family pauses for supper they can grab the fall apart meat on a hoagie bun and their favorite chips for a yummy supper.

  • 1 # Taco Seasoned Pork Roll
  • 1 Brick Easy Melt Cheese
  • Tomatoes and Green Chilies
This slow cooker recipe can be started in the afternoon and makes a great quick supper or a dish to take with you to your next pot luck get together. Start your slow cooker on high. This temp will be high enough to grow the defrosted pre-seasoned sausage. (If you were unable to find this product you can achieve similar results with a tube of sausage or hamburger and a package of taco seasoning.) Brown the meat in the crock pot. While it is browning you can cube your cheese. When the meat is browned, and drained if necessary, turn the slow cooker to low and add the cheese and a can of tomatoes and chilies (drained). Stir frequently until melted and then serve with tortilla or corn chips.

We all wish we had time to make those big meals that our mamas did, but we simply do not have the time. I have started using my slow cooker to recreate some of those favorites. My family can sit down to a wonderful meal and I am not as stressed. One of my favorites to recreate is Swiss Steak.

Swiss Steak Slow Cooker Recipe

  • Tenderized Cubed Steaks
  • Large Can Tomatoes with Basil and Oregano
  • Regular Can Carrot Slices, drained
  • Flour
  • Cooking Spray
In the morning, lightly flour steaks. Brown slightly in skillet coated in cooking spray. Place steaks in slow cooker. Top with tomatoes and carrots. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Serve steaks topped with vegetables and with a side of mashed potatoes.
