Determine if there will be different zones in the room: sleeping, playing, reading, etc. Lofting the bed provides added space while daybeds serve a dual purpose (sleeping and relaxing). Don’t forget about a desk/workstation. Having a quiet spot to work on homework and other projects is essential.
The Importance of Organization
Storage is a key component in any room, especially a child’s bedroom, so make it a priority. There are so many wonderful storage solutions available, you just need to figure out what works best for you and your child, whether that includes shelving units, baskets, closet storage systems, see-through containers, or a combination of them. For ease of use, try to focus on a system that allows for quick and easy clean-up/organization.
Helping your child decorate his or her room will definitely make you feel like a kid again while providing the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with a loved one. So remember: be creative, have fun and enjoy the adventure.
