Ingredients
- 1 cup barley uncooked
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup chick peas
- 2 onions diced
- ½ cup chopped celery
- ½ cup minced parsley
- 2 TBSP olive oil
- Salt, pepper and paprika
Make it
- In a large soup pot, heat olive oil and onions until onions become soft.
- Add 1 cup of water, celery, parsley, chick peas and tomato paste. Season with salt, black pepper and salt.Let simmer for 10 mn.
- Add 8-9 cups of water and bring it to boil.
- Add barley and let cook for 1hour or until barley is soft, stirring from time to time.
