Most Famous Christmas Movie Quotes

One thing that makes Christmas movies so special is their quotes. In some way or another they remind us all what Christmas is really all about and that is giving. Out of the hundreds of Christmas movies it is hard to decide which ones are the best, but there are a few that will stick out in everyone’s memory forever.

Most Famous Christmas Movie Quotes

It’s a Wonderful Life-

First on that list comes from “It`s a Wonderful Life”. For some people, Christmas is not the most wonderful time of the year. In this movie, the main character thinks that his life is over. Then along comes Clarence, who shows him how great he is and he finally says  “I wanna live again.”

Polar Express

Next on the list is Polar Express. This quote may be one of the greatest of all times. “The thing about trains…it doesn’t matter where they’re going. What matters is deciding to get on. So many people in life can`t make up their mind to try”.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Of course Christmas will never be the same without “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” Charlie always knows just what to say and in this case, he says, “Isn’t there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?”

Most Famous Christmas Movie Quotes

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Next on the list is “ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” we all fell in love with the Grinch and can never forget some of his quotes like “ that`s the one thing I hate, noise, noise, noise!”.

Rudolph

Every child growing up knows who Rudolph is. I Rudolph reminded us all that it`s ok to be different with one of many quotes like “Hermey doesn`t want to make toys.”

Elf

Will Ferrell is one of the greatest comedians of all times. He plays a giant elf in the movie “Elf”. While, on his search for Santa, he comes across one in the mall and says” You smell like beef and cheese, you don’t smell like Santa.” In some way or another, each one of these movies takes us back to a simpler time in our lives.

  1. I love, love that quote from the Polar Express. I used to love watching that movie when I babysat and I can’t wait to show it to my daughter. My favorite quote-able Christmas movie is Love Actually!

  2. I’ve only seen two of these movies, and my favorite was Elf. Holidays for us as kids was more about musicals like Mary Poppins and chitty chitty bang bang. Cultural differences I guess between UK and USA.

  3. I love all of the quotes in The Grinch. Elf is definitely another fun one as well. I love the message that the Grinch sends to children about Christmas being more than presents. :)

  4. I love alll the movies you listed and then some but as for quotes, hmmm I can’t think of one besides National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and it’s inappropriate. LOL

  5. Those are some great quotes. I’m terrible at quotes. I’m almost ready to watch Christmas movies, so I’ll have to pay attention to see if there’s a memorable one. Oh, what about “Every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings.” I think that’s right? From It’s A Wonderful Life.

  6. I’m surprised Chistmas Vacation is not on this list as it’s my all-time fave movie with SOOOOO many great quotes “it’s christmas & we’re all in misery”, “sh’e’ll see it later clark, her eyes are frozen’, ‘why’s the floor all wet todd?” . . . oh good stuff!

  7. I remember when the polar express came out. I went with my mom and saw it in 3D. I love these movies! We have a Christmas tradition with my parents where me and my sister go back home and we watch “I’ll be home for Christmas”

It’s hilarious. It has Jonathan Taylor Thomas in it. We watch it every single year. Our fav quote is “I’m an elf”

You’d have to watch it to understand ;) love this post! :) LifeAsLex
