The ability to get back into shape both physically and mentally is very important to moms who have just given birth to a new baby. You will be all right if you if you take your postpartum exercises at a slow pace when you first begin. It is important that you listen to your body when you start your exercise programs.
You should not exercise to long or too hard because you could hurt your body. You just gave birth to a baby and that was strenuous in itself your body is out of shape but over exercising can cause more damage that good. Start a very slow postpartum exercise program. You will not be eating as you expected because of having to nurse your baby and your sleep will be interrupted which all these things effect the way you look and feel. That is why it is important that you get enough rest if possible and use a good exercise program.

First thing that you should do is make sure that you are wearing a good supportive bra in order to protect your breasts especially if you are nursing your baby. You should dress properly and be as comfortable as possible before you start your exercise programs.

How to exercise after birth

  • You need to start by doing breathing exercises. You gave birth to a baby and now your organs need to return to their original place. You will find that at first your breathing is different because your organs need to return to their original place after you have given birth.
  • The next thing that you should consider is your arms, legs so do arm circles, and leg lifts. You can do these exercises while you are lying in bed. Make sure that when you are doing your leg lifts and arm circles that you do it for both sides.
  • You will want to do leg slides that is while setting in bed pull your knees up and then let one leg at the time slide down. You can do this exercise about ten times to start remember do not overdo it.
  • The neck becomes very stiff because of setting long periods to feed your baby. You need to do neck exercise in our program as well. Just drop your head down and then turn it from side-to-side for about ten times. Then relax your head by looking upward for about ten seconds and then backwards about ten seconds.

These are simple exercises that you can do after you have given birth and they will not harm your body but help you to start losing weight.
